''Oe Vrauwe Kêike: Volendam through the eyes of women”
Volendam as an artists' village has often been portrayed from a male perspective. The exhibition "Oe Vrauwe Kêike" invites you to look differently.
At a time when female artists were not yet a given, they found their place in Volendam and captured the village from their own viewpoint. The Volendam Museum now brings these works together. In addition to the historical works, the exhibition also features contemporary female artists. This creates a unique exhibition in which the woman is not the subject, but the creator. As an artist.
Step inside and discover: can you recognize the female eye?
